DMB Show ~ Typical Situation
(Or How I Was Able To Buy A Front Row Ticket 30 Minutes Before The Show Started)

Dave Matthews Band

The Saturday night Dave Matthews Band show in West Palm Beach is ALWAYS a sellout. Year after year that is guaranteed, its just not known when it will sell out. This year I was a but slow in purchasing my ticket, and after a highly successful ticket push by Live Nation the show sold out earlier than normal. So I needed to make a decision… Should I buy a ticket through Stub Hub? Or take a chance buying a ticket at the show? Continue reading

Weezer – Sun Fest

Weezer

A little while back I caught Weezer play a show up in West Palm Beach. Had a great time, it was during the Sun Fest Music Festival. They are one of the few groups where I have all of their albums, and followed them since I first bought Weezer Blue on cassette back in 1995. I wanted to share some of my pictures and their setlist from the show. As well as a list of how I rank their albums.

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY BITCHES

June 13, 2010 | Randy Senneway

Lets see now, how did i celebrate the go, go randy web site’s first anniversary??? Obviously by losing focus and not having updated it in awhile. OK, I am past that,…here it is… a celebration of the sites past year. The highs, lows and inbetweens (a reminder of my favorite stories, best lists and most controversial posts.)

I have made over 170 posts the past year. Updating anything from a trip to Pittsburgh, a concert in Miami, or some strange cat I ran into at a gas station. It has been an interesting year and I hope that you have enjoyed what I have posted.

one year bitches

THE STORIES

1. The Ninja Turtle Story
There are some stories that I have been sharing for a while, this one goes back close to twenty years. It has always been a favorite of mine and is a hit with those that hear it.

2. Oh Jafar…
I Love Parades. I am not afraid to admit it. Always have, always will. I like to watch them, ride my bike in them, listen to the marching bands, and harass the people marching. This goes back to when I was young, but not too young because at one time I was afraid of them. Anyway, you get the idea, I love parades.

3. A Senneway Family Christmas Story
This is a story of a Christmas past… I’m not exactly sure what year this was, I’m thinking it was around 1985/86 and my family was living in Bethel Park, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was Christmas Eve and we were going to the evening mass at our church, which was minutes from the house. Gathered to go to church were my mom and dad, my brother Bill(9), sister Beth(4) and me (I was around 11 or 12 years old at the time). We packed ourselves into the light blue family station wagon, got to the church early to get a good parking space, and more importantly seats.

THE SONGS (Song of the Day)

1. Bohemian Rhapsody – The Muppets

2. I Turn My Camera On – Spoon

3. Impossible Germany – Wilco

THE CONTRIBUTIONS

1. Rusty Cosgrove’s “How to Survive a Shark Attack”

THE LISTS

1. Best of the Decade (album, song, movie)

2. My Favorite Concerts

3. For Michelle (DMB Style)

THE PICTURES

1. St Patty’s Parade – Delray Beach, FL

2. Pittsburgh Trip 2009

THE CONTROVERSY

1. So, Let me get this Straight

Goodbye Civic Arena

May 14, 2010 | Randy Senneway

Civic Arena (Mellon Arena)

With the Penguins loss to the Canadiens this past Wednesday night, it was the end of an era. No, not for Penguin hockey, but for the building that housed it. The Civic Arena (Mellon Arena) is closing its doors. Nicknamed “The Igloo” due to its shape and being the home to the Penguins for over 40 years, it has housed many a major event. From the Beatles, Elvis, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Hulk Hogan, lots of names have performed under its dome for the residents of Western Pennsylvania. What I wanted to do here was share some of my personal favorite memories.

Randy’s Top Moments from the “Igloo”

5. “Sudden Death”
I thought that it would be fun for a day to be an extra on a movie set. The movie was “Sudden Death” starring Jean Claude Van Damme as a Pittsburgh fireman that somehow gets caught up in a plot to assasinate the Vice President at game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. I was there for a day, got a hot dog and coke, and witnessed the thespian skills of JCVD from a few feet away.

New Orleans Twitter Recap

May 5, 2010 | Randy Senneway

Randy in New Orleans

I was in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, and the four days were packed with shows. I knew that on this trip I would be all over the place, bar to bar, bar to restaurant, restaurant to restaurant. The amount of eating and drinking would be difficult to keep track of. This made it the perfect subject for an ongoin twitter blog.
