I had stopped at the Mobil station near my apartment to fill up the Scion with gas. This station seems to attract a wide variety of people because they like to blast music, R&B and oldies. There is a homeless woman that stays at this station every night seemingly to enjoy the sweet sounds. And this day there was a new fan of the tuneage, a man that at first glance seemed normal. Boy was I wrong… I could see from my car that there was a vacantness to his stare. As he was moving to the beat of Sam Cooke I noticed that he lost control of his arms and started pointing and gyrating towards a passing car. Strange, I first thought maybe he knew the people, but then he repeated his actions towards another person walking into the convienence mart. Ummmm, OK now this became something to watch. I didn’t even notice that the gas had stopped filling up as I stared at this dude grooving. He was then looking for the next person to point at so I quickly jumped into my car before he noticed me. Leaving the scene, I figured he was just fooling around while waiting for some friends to get out of the store.
TWO HOURS LATER
I drove back past the gas station on my way to the mall only to see this fella still dancing there. GRUUUVINNN and POINTIN. Only now, after having been exposed to the South Florida sun with some serious sweat and the start of a sun burn.
I sit here in the rear of the conference hall with my camera at the ready photographing the Spirit national meeting. The last three days have been a blur of food, booze and Spirit women. I’ve been able to find a little time for myself and check out some of the local history. We are staying three blocks from the White House, which I have walked to everyday and a twenty minute walk to the Washington Mall. Memorable moments from my trip have been my trip to Staples, hanging bunting, caucuses, seeing the monuments with The Rizz, drinking rooftop with the Spirit crew, drinking in Georgetown and karaoke with Spirit gang. A lot of hard work went into this years NEM and it showed in how professional we appearded to be. Soon I will return to South Florida and FINALLY get me caught up with some sleeeeeep!
This is the start of a new category for the gogo web site. I will be suggesting movies that you should watch, so get your Netflix cue ready to be updated. (BTW, This category is to be used as filler during days that I don’t have anything exciting to share)
Watch It! — Sunset Boulevard A classic movie that has been in my personal DVD collection for years. The movie stars William Holden and Gloria Swanson in a movie set in ’50s Hollywood.
A new flavor of Doritos based on something they call All Nighter Cheeseburger. That can't be good, can it??? 5 days ago
Love to see erratic drivers getting pulled over in South Florida. Easily the highlight of my morning, sorry bowl of cereal you've been beat. 4 weeks ago
