This is a story of a Christmas past…
I’m not exactly sure what year this was, I’m thinking it was around 1985/86 and my family was living in Bethel Park, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was Christmas Eve and we were going to the evening mass at our church, which was minutes from the house. Gathered to go to church were my mom and dad, my brother Bill(9), sister Beth(4) and me (I was around 11 or 12 years old at the time). We packed ourselves into the light blue family station wagon, got to the church early to get a good parking space, and more importantly seats. Continue reading

Hollywood to Hollywood (Florida to California)
August 15, 2007
This year sees me leaving from a different home to visit my sister in Hollywood. After relocating since my last trip, I now depart from the lovely Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood airport in sunny south Florida. My flight is leaving early in the morning, so I know this is going to be a very long day.
Fun Day To Travel!
August 15, 2007 – Morning
Flight out of Florida was nice, with a stop over in Phoenix before moving forward to L.A. It was an interesting scene at the sundries store at the Fort Lauderdale airport. I was stuck in line behind a man that was trying to haggle with the clerk at the store. He wanted an ugly ass discounted fort lauderdale t-shirt marked down more because the was a ball point pen mark on the back of it. The shirt was $7.99 and he was not paying more than $5.00. He wanted to talk to a manager after he was denied by the clerk to “deal”. All I wanted was to buy my damn Airborne. Eventually they let me pass, but this guy was not leaving without fighting for the extra $2.99 off this shitty shirt.
Hollywood Death March
August 15, 2007 – Afternoon
Arrived at LAX around noon, grabbed my luggage and headed to the Super Shuttle to take me to my final destination. (Only we were not heading there just yet) The shuttle did not want to drive just me to Hollywood so we circled the airport again and again and again. I was pleading out the window with people to just get in with us. PLEASE GO TO HOLLYWOOD. The driver finally gave up and we went on our merry way through oil fields and neighborhoods I did not know existed. All of this to avoid the parking lot that was the freeway. Continue reading

24 HOURS TIL TAKEOFF
July 18, 2006
Should be an interesting time visiting my sister. Have lots planned, lets see if I will be able to do it all. Bags mostly packed, after a day of work for the ladies it’s off to the airport. Will be landing in L.A. around 8 pacific time.
DELAYED
July 19, 2006
Flight out of Pittsburgh delayed 4 hours. To ease the pain, I was given a $10 food voucher. Gonna have to get me some alcohol…
BEVERLY HILLS
July 20, 2006 (morning)
Went to my sister’s office to see how the high fashion sunglass crew rolls. After seeing her to work I hit the Beverly Hills scene. Rodeo Drive… Well, 9:00 am is not the time to hit the scene. Highlight of the Hills was seeing some guy at Starbucks that looked like Tom Cruise get harrassed about Baby Suri. I have a feeling he’s gotten it a lot ’cause he had plenty of responses. (hmmmm, maybe it was Tom Cruise? Although, he wasn’t being escorted by his Scientology minions, so it more than likely was not.) Continue reading
