DMB Show ~ Typical Situation
(Or How I Was Able To Buy A Front Row Ticket 30 Minutes Before The Show Started)

Dave Matthews Band

The Saturday night Dave Matthews Band show in West Palm Beach is ALWAYS a sellout. Year after year that is guaranteed, its just not known when it will sell out. This year I was a but slow in purchasing my ticket, and after a highly successful ticket push by Live Nation the show sold out earlier than normal. So I needed to make a decision… Should I buy a ticket through Stub Hub? Or take a chance buying a ticket at the show? Continue reading

Say It Ain’t SO-O-O-O
Weezer – Sun Fest

Weezer

A little while back I caught Weezer play a show up in West Palm Beach. Had a great time, it was during the Sun Fest Music Festival. They are one of the few groups where I have all of their albums, and followed them since I first bought Weezer Blue on cassette back in 1995. I wanted to share some of my pictures and their setlist from the show. As well as a list of how I rank their albums.

The Black Keys
Fillmore Miami Beach

The Black Keys

MIAMI BEACH
The road to Miami Beach this Sunday was a wet one. A H-U-G-E rainstorm blew across the state making the trip down I-95 a bit difficult. The trip took longer than usual, but we made it there around 4:30, plenty of time for some pre-show cocktails on the beach. The rain kept the drinking inside, rather than beachside, and we hit a few different bars before heading (soaking wet) into the show.

The show started around 8:30 with the opening band, while they were playing I hung around outside in the lobby. While chilling I noticed some old guy that was dressed like Keith Richards. I was maybe four feet away from him, looked him over, thought to myself “that can’t be Keith Richards”… well… the band posted the following picture on their Facebook page. Continue reading

An Evening With Wilco

March 25, 2010 | Randy Senneway

Whatever words I type into this blog will not give the show that I saw it’s due. Wilco played The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater and it was an experience.

DAYTIME

The show was in Miami Beach and that gave me an excuse to take a half day at work and spend the late afternoon drinking on South Beach. Early showers gave way to blue skies and sunshine, and I found a nice stool at the outdoor bar at The Clevelander. I spent close to three hours at the bar, drinking Miller Lites and checking out the scene. I took a brief walk along the beach (it being empty there was not much to look at) and returned to the bar to drink some more. I headed down towards The Fillmore around 6:30 and decided on dinner at Pizza Rustica which was just around the corner from where I parked.

EVENING

I arrived at the theater about an hour before showtime. I had an extra ticket to sell and I didn’t want to get there too late to make back some money. After a quick sell, I entered the theater and made my way to my seats which were on the second level. I had a seat in the second row on the left side of the theater, with a nice view of the stage. While I was sitting in my seats I noticed one of Wilco’s roadies visiting the two guys sitting infront of me. They were offered two autographed Wilco posters a section upgrade in exchange for their seats. They quickly accepted the deal and now sitting next to me were the parents of Wilco’s drummer.

Wilco (a list)

January 15, 2010 | Randy Senneway

Its time for another list!

I though that since I just bought tickets for an upcoming Wilco show in Miami Beach, at the Fillmore/Jackie Gleason Theater, this would be a good time for me to share what my favorite Wilco songs are. And if you are looking to introduce yourself to their music, the following is what I would put an a mix tape for you to listen. Continue reading
